A course introducing students to computer-assisted music production and the multiple creative opportunities in this field. We will explore existing ICT tools for recording, editing and experimenting with sounds, such as Logic Audio or Ableton Live. The democratisation of technology currently allows anyone working from a home studio and a computer to access all the tools needed for creating and producing musical works, ads or sounds. DAWs (digital audio workstations) provide music creation tools and devices that, in the past, were usually too expensive for ordinary citizens. Nowadays, many fantastic albums that have a big impact on the musical scene are composed in a home studio, with a computer and little more.
